CBOT futures traded most of the day on the plus side and closed with moderate to strong gains, led by Chicago wheat futures. Live cattle closed near steady while feeder cattle posted moderate losses, albeit about a dollar off the day’s lows. Lean hog futures closed sharply lower for a second day.

CBOT futures closed very mixed with gains for wheat and losses for soybeans and meal; corn ended nearly steady. Cattle futures closed slightly higher except for nearby October LC which gained $1.35/cwt. December LH futures closed mixed with nearby December LH futures losing $1.50; this follows Tuesday’s $3.00 limit-up move.

CBOT closed steady to lower with corn and wheat falling sharply due to bearish estimates in the monthly USDA crop reports. Cattle futures closed narrowly mixed as traders wait to see where fed cattle will trade this week. Lean Hog futures closed lower and near the day’s lows.

CBOT futures closed narrowly mixed ahead of tomorrow’s USDA crop reports. Corn and wheat didn’t see the follow-through to Monday’s bullish price action. Cattle futures closed higher with the biggest move in feeder futures.  Lean Hog futures closed strongly higher, following through on Tuesday’s bullish price reversal.

Corn and wheat rallied sharply, followed by soybeans.  Today’s price action on the charts looks friendly.  Cattle futures closed slightly higher in narrow trading ranges.  Lean Hog futures closed strongly higher today after LH closed as much as $3.00 lower on Monday.

CBOT futures closed narrowly mixed on fairly narrow trading ranges. Cattle futures closed mostly lower under pressure from a weaker boxed beef market and generally overbought futures.  Lean Hog futures fell sharply, with December and February contracts down the $3.00 daily limit.

CBOT futures closed steady to lower, except for the MGEX spring wheat contract which continued to rally on unfavorable weather conditions and forecasts in the north. Cattle futures closed higher on the announcement of a US/Japan trade agreement which will lower tariffs on US beef.  Lean Hog futures rose sharply today on ideas that China is about to make a large purchase of US pork.

CBOT futures closed narrowly mixed with high-range closes in corn and wheat. Cattle futures closed narrowly mixed, with feeder cattle outperforming LC today. Lean Hog futures closed moderately higher, adding to Monday’s price gains.

CBOT futures closed mostly higher, led by the soybean and meal contracts. Live and feeder cattle futures gapped higher at the open, rallied through the day to close near the day’s highs.  Lean Hog futures closed higher to sharply higher as futures rebounded from Friday’s big losses.
