Down the Backroads | Kindness Really Is a Way of Life in Kentucky

A recent survey conducted by an organization known as “Kindness.org” listed Kentucky as being the kindest state in the U.S. Now, I’m no rocket scientist, but I have figured that one out; no survey needed.

CBOT futures continue to march higher as the bull run isn’t finding any fences to hold it back. Live cattle closed higher while feeder futures finished in the red. Lean hog futures closed mostly higher but little changed.

With no change in Brazil’s weather forecast and the tight old-crop corn and soybean supplies in the U.S., the futures markets marched higher. Cattle futures closed higher as the June LC’s $5-6 discount to cash brought in bargain hunters. Lean hog futures closed higher on stronger cash hog prices, firm pork values and bullish optimism.
