About the Certified Farm Market Program

In 1996, the Certified Farm Market program was born from KFB President Mark Haney to help future growth of farm markets around the state, starting as a way for fruit and vegetable growers to advertise their products to customers. In its first year, only 25 markets joined the program. Now, the Certified Farm Market program supports over 160 markets across Kentucky and has expanded from produce to products like meat, greenhouse productions, bakeries and cafes, agritourism, and more. Farm market owners interested in becoming a Certified Farm Market member can learn more here.
