LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, September 7, 2006: Kentucky Farm Bureau and the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture are teaming up to sponsor Legislative Day as part of Ag Roundup Week activities at the UK Campus.
The event will be held Wednesday, September 13, at the E.S. Good Barn.
Farm Bureau leaders from across the state are joining with College of Agriculture officials and members of the General Assembly’s Interim Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee for a day of meetings and tours.
The legislative committee will convene at 9:00 a.m. to solicit input on key agriculture issues facing the 2007 General Assembly session, including funding for Ag diversification and livestock disease treatment, as well as priorities for research and extension activities. The meeting takes place in Gorham Hall of the E.S. Good Barn.
Facility tours are on tap at 10:00 a.m., including the Barnhart Building (formerly the Agricultural Engineering Building), the Livestock Disease Diagnostic Center and the Animal Research Center in Woodford County.
At 11:00 a.m., more than 60 exhibits showcasing the College of Agriculture will be displayed under a tent, followed by lunch at 12:30 for the hosts and visitors.
