Shanda Holder Receives Kentucky Farm Bureau’s
Paul D. Everman Fund for Lifetime Learning Scholarship
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY: A Monroe County mother of two, who is pursuing
a degree in elementary education, has been awarded the Paul D. Everman
Fund for Lifetime Learning Scholarship by Kentucky Farm Bureau.
Shanda Holder, Gamaliel, is the recipient of the $3,000 scholarship,
named in honor of the former Kentucky Farm Bureau executive vice president
who passed away in 2002.
The scholarship is awarded annually to a Farm Bureau member who has returned
to college, after an absence, to pursue a 4-year degree. Holder is enrolled
as a part-time student at the Glasgow campus of Western Kentucky University.
She and her husband, Mark, live on the family farm with their two children,
Clayton, five, and Jon Mark, eight months. She is currently employed by
Drs. Ross, Birge and Heffron.
Farm Bureau awards the lifetime learning grant on an annual basis to
a non-traditional student who returns to college after interrupting or
delaying studies because of work or family responsibilities.
