LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY: David Davis, a Crittenden County native,
has been named an area program director for Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation.
The appointment was announced by David S. Beck, Farm Bureau
executive vice president. Davis begins work for the organization August
23.
Davis comes to his new position following five years as
an agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance in the Crittenden County
agency. The past two years, he earned recognition for placing in the Top
25 lowest loss ratio among agents statewide.
As area program director, Davis will coordinate membership
and service programs for Farm Bureau members in 12 West Kentucky counties.
In addition, he will work with officers and directors of the county Farm
Bureaus in the Purchase region to set goals and implement effective leadership
strategies for their organizations.
Davis is a graduate of Crittenden County High School and
he attended the Madisonville Vocational and Technical School. He has worked
for Island Creek Coal Company and for Mapco Coal Company, where he served
for 10 years as section foreman and substitute mine manager.
He also served as pastor at three area churches and for four years was
moderator of the West Kentucky Association of General Baptists annual
meeting.
In announcing the appointment, Beck said Davis’s
unique work experience and his demonstrated leadership skills will serve
him well in his association with Farm Bureau leaders in heavily agricultural
West Kentucky.
“Working for Farm Bureau is a very people-oriented
undertaking and David has proven that he can flourish in that type professional
environment,” Beck said. “He is a welcome addition to our
staff and I am confident that he will be a valuable asset in moving Farm
Bureau’s programs forward in his working area.”
Davis will be working with local Farm Bureaus in the following
counties: Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman,
Livingston, Lyon, McCracken, Marshall and Trigg.
