LOUISVILLE , KENTUCKY: Scott Christmas, a 13-year staff member of the
Florida Farm Bureau, has been named director, women and agriculture education,
of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation.
The appointment, effective August 28, was
announced by David S. Beck, executive vice president of the Farm Bureau
Federation.
In his new position, Christmas will coordinate women’s program
activities for Farm Bureau, and serve as the organization’s agriculture and
consumer education specialist.
He will work directly with county and state-level women’s
committees, implementing a variety of leadership training activities and leading
the organization’s efforts to refocus on county activities and increased

Christmas’s background with Florida Farm Bureau included serving as
coordinator of women’s and young farmer programs, and as assistant director of
ag policy. He also served as primary staff coordinator for the group’s annual
convention.
He previously held staff and management positions with Purina Mills
and with Premium Pet Foods.
In announcing the appointment, Beck had strong praise for Christmas
and his professional achievements in Florida.
“His work record and accomplishments for the
Florida Farm Bureau illustrated to me that Scott’s organizational and leadership
skills are exemplary,” Beck said. “It takes a special person to work with
agricultural volunteers and I believe he can help us achieve new levels of
participation and effectiveness in these vital programs.”
