RELEASE
Mike Feldhaus, long-time Farm Bureau employee and farm
broadcaster, has been named assistant director of communication for Kentucky
Farm Bureau.
The appointment was announced by David S. Beck, executive
vice president of Kentucky Farm Bureau. It is effective November 22.
In his new position, Feldhaus will oversee video production
activities for Farm Bureau and will serve as host of the organization’s
weekly television program, Bluegrass and Backroads.
He will also serve as broadcast services director and will
continue to host Farm Bureau’s radio programs, including Across
Kentucky, a daily 3-minute show aired on 109 Kentucky radio stations,
and Kentucky Ag Roundup, a weekly 15-minute program carried by 30 stations.
Feldhaus began work with Kentucky Farm Bureau in 1974, following
a stint with Richmond radio station WEKY. He is an Eastern Kentucky University
graduate, holding a BA in broadcasting. He and his wife Sandy have three
daughters and a granddaughter.
Feldhaus is a director on the board of the Kentucky Broadcasters
Association and a past president and director of the St. Matthews Rotary
Club.
Beck said the promotion of Feldhaus and expansion of his
responsibilities are in recognition of his standing as one of Kentucky’s
most respected broadcast personalities.
“Mike is a true professional and his radio programs
have won a number of state and national awards over the years,”
Beck said. “We’re pleased he can now bring his talents to
television as host of our weekly show.”
Bluegrass and Backroads, a 30-minute show which spotlights
Kentucky landmarks, attractions and people, begins its second season on
WBKI-TV Saturday November 27. It airs at 4 p.m. on the station, which
is seen in Louisville and Lexington, and on broadcast and cable systems
across some 40 Central Kentucky counties.
The program also airs on WEHT-TV in Evansville on Saturday
mornings and on RFD-TV, a national rural programming network available
to satellite television subscribers to both Dish Network and DirecTV.
Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Communication Division performs
a variety of programs and services for Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation
and Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance.
Those programs include publications, advertising, public
relations and web maintenance, in addition to broadcast services and video
production.
