Barren County was named winner of the 2007 Pride of the Counties of the Commonwealth (PCC) Award on Farm Bureau Day at the Kentucky State Fair. The booth was a joint venture of the Glasgow and Cave City chambers of commerce.
The county's exhibit was judged best based on overall effectiveness, quality and appropriateness of the display, clarity of the message, creativity and professionalism.
Forty seven exhibits represented 54 counties in the 22nd year of this event. The exhibit covered nearly 20,000 square feet in the South Wing and exhibited historic objects, artwork, crafts and photographs, along with many other items that promoted each community.
Pride of the Counties, sponsored by Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Companies, is a unique opportunity to showcase each county to a captive audience of more than 600,000 people during the eleven days of the State Fair.
