LOUISVILLE, KY, January 7, 2008: Katherine Montague of Louisville has been named travel coordinator/event planner for the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation.
The appointment, effective January 28, was announced by David S. Beck, executive vice president of Farm Bureau.
In her new position, Montague will plan and execute meeting and travel arrangements for Farm Bureau. The organization regularly hosts meetings and travel events throughout Kentucky, and also takes groups to destinations across the United States including Congressional visits in Washington, D.C.
Montague comes to Farm Bureau following a stint as assistant director of the Governor's Mansion in Frankfort. Previously she worked for CharterAuction.com, a charter aircraft service company based in Louisville.
In welcoming Montague to the Farm Bureau staff, Beck said effective meeting and travel coordination is vital to the mission of a leadership-based organization.
"Farm Bureau leadership, members and staff regularly are engaged with their peers in a broad spectrum of businesses and organizations, dealing with complex issues involving agriculture and related industries," Beck said.
"Ms. Montague will play an important role in making sure the logistical needs of those attending conferences and traveling are dealt with effectively and professionally."
Montague earned a bachelor of business administration in management and marketing from the University of Kentucky.
