Teachers Invited to Agriculture Literacy Conference

Kentucky Farm Bureau Agricultural Education

Kentucky Farm Bureau
Ag in the Classroom Program

"Partners for Agriculture Literacy"
Educator Conference

Kentucky Farm Bureau is pleased to announce that five regional teacher workshops will be offered throughout the state during the month of June. This year's workshops will showcase the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's new curriculum, Kentucky Proud Lessons, the nationally renowned agricultural and environmental curriculum Project Food, Land, and People, and the Kentucky Agriculture and Environment in the Classroom (KAEC) Mobile Science Activity Center. Each lesson and curriculum has been correlated to Kentucky's Core Content.

Teachers will truly be inspired, encouraged and challenged by keynote presentations from our guest speakers. The participants can also expect to enjoy a feast of good and healthy food during these events. During the afternoon, participants will tour local agricultural operations and gain first-hand industrial knowledge. This information will directly relate to classroom core curriculum which was emphasized during the morning activities. In addition, these tours will include practical environmental and agricultural applications which can be used in individual classrooms.

A total of six hours of professional development credit may be earned at these workshops. The workshop registration fee has been waived for all Kentucky educators, compliments of Kentucky Farm Bureau. Please be aware that availability may be limited, therefore early registration is encouraged. Enclosed you will find a tentative agenda and a workshop registration form.
