Boone
County was incorporated February 9, 1954 (founded 1942) and celebrated
its 50th anniversary in 2004. Since day one, Farm Bureau has been
involved in the life of the county. We were one of the first counties
to establish a "Right to Farm" ordinance and, with the help of other
organizations in the county, Boone County Farm Bureau helped to
spear-head this drive. We've played a part in local taxation issues,
recognition of the growth of the equine business in the county,
recognition of the important part agriculture still plays in a fast
developing county with participation in "Food Check-Out Days,"
Farm-Safety, etc.
Boone County strives to go beyond the services of insurance, GM Private Offer, eyeglasses/contacts discounts, and the other major services
by offering free Notary Service to our members, limited fax service
for that occasional paper a member needs to transmit, having a very
special annual meeting that 300 or so members attend (we have great
food and some terrific door prizes),
the blessing of a claims district office right here in the county
with drive through vehicle estimates, and various other celebrations,
programs and the like.
